Chromium

Two fantastic 'one a day' Chromium products: Chromium Picolinate & Chromium GTF + B3 both.

An essential trace mineral, Chromium combines with vitamin B3 (niacin) and amino acids to produce Glucose Tolerance Factor (GTF). This assists insulin in its function of taking up glucose from the blood for energy release and therefore helps maintain normal blood-sugar levels. It may also have a role in lipid (fat) metabolism, and carbohydrate utilisation. GTF formation may decrease as we age or with impaired diet.

In nature, Chromium is abundant in brewers yeast, as well as wholegrain cereals, processed meats, vegetables and some cheeses which, until recently, were the only additional sources to the daily diet. It is worth noting that some people do not form as much GTF as they need and they should be encouraged to eat a better diet and possibly supplement Chromium and vitamin B3 to help safeguard intake.
