Boldo complex

(with dandelion)

Boldo complex
Infections that begin in the bladder can spread towards the kidneys, or on towards the urethra, causing pain and inflammation. Intended for conditions of the urinary system, this formula combines herbs to increase urinary flow, reduce infection, strengthen damaged tissue and soothe. This formula is also suited to those looking to shed some surplus fluid retention before holidays or special occasions. Swollen ankles and fingers area good indications of fluid retention. Excess fluid can be eliminated over the course of a few days and weeks, as it is simply flushed away by the kidneys.

High Quality. Based in the United Kingdom. Covered by UK trading laws.

Boldo complex (with dandelion) Information:

The Benefits of Boldo Complex with Dandelion
This complex has a strong diuretic action. It is also suitable for use in chronic infections, where flushing through the infective organisms is less likely to cause an extra irritation. Uva Ursi is extremely high in tannins, substances that have an astringent action. A potentially useful action of Uva Ursi may be for people with poor bladder control, as tannins help strengthen and tone the urinary tract.

Main uses:
Fluid retention (swollen ankles etc)
Dieting and slimming
Kidney or bladder infections
Cystitis

Properties
Boldo - its essential oil contains terinen-4-ol, the same powerful diuretic principle found in Juniper oil. Boldo previously was used as an anthelmintic (anit-parasitic) agent, due to its ascaridole content. However, ascaridole has since been found to be a toxic irritant. Natures Aid Boldo is free of ascaridole.

Dandelion leaf - is a popular diuretic and one which also contains high levels of potassium, replacing the extra lost when passing more urine. Potassium is essential in the maintenance of the body's fluid balance.

Uva Ursi leaf - the main active constituent found in Uva Ursi is the glycoside arbutin. This glycoside is converted in the urine by hydrolysis to yield the antiseptic and anti-microbial agent hydroquinone.
Note: The alterations the body makes to arbutin to arrive as hydroquinone, require an alkaline environment. Therefore, dietary adjustments such as cutting back on tea, coffee, animal protein, alcohol, sugar and salt, while increasing fruit, vegetable and water intake will help reduce the acidity of the urine and boost the effect of Uva Ursi.

Horsetail- is another diuretic and is rich in silica. Silica is an important nutrient used to strengthen the kidney's connective tissue, if damaged by chronic infection or exposure to toxins.

Each tablet contains:
Boldo leaf extract, equivalent to 300mg of dried leaf
Dandelion leaf extract, equivalent to 100mg of dried leaf
Uva Ursi leaf extract, equivalent to 100mg of dried leaf
Horsetail herb extract, equivalent to 100mg of dried herb
The Boldo is free from ascaridole, a toxic alkaloid irritant
Manufactured in the UK by Natures Aid in their state of the art purpose built facility to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards.

Note:
Due to its high tannin content, Uva Ursi should be avoided by anyone taking prescribed diuretics, heart medications or codeine.
Dandelion and Boldo should be avoided if suffering obstruction of the bile ducts. Boldo is not suitable for those with severe liver disease.
Not recommended for use during pregnancy or when breastfeeding.
