Boswellia

Boswellia
The Indian Ayruvedic system of herbal medicine has long used the large Boswellia tree for the treatment of inflammatory joint problems, diarrhoea and dysentery. The tree trunk is tapped to collect the resin that is used in modern herbal products. Plant resins are sticky, wax-like substances often secreted by plants in response to damage. The resin then hardens to offer the damage a protective coating. Resins soften upon heating to yield essential oils, gums or both. Resin acids, such as the Boswellic acids found in Boswellia, are part of the chemical make up of these oils and gums.

High Quality. Based in the United Kingdom. Covered by UK trading laws.

Boswellia Information:

The Benefits of Boswellia
Boswellia's main application is the pain management of virtually any inflammatory condition. Boswellia is not associated with the side effects of Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDS), which may upset the stomach. An illustration of the gentle nature of Boswellia is its use in inflammatory bowel disorders, e.g. ulcerative colitis. In these cases, where even minor irritants can trigger symptoms, Boswellia does not increase the risk of damage, irritation or ulceration of the digestive system.

Main uses:
Inflammatory joint pain:
  Osteoarthritis
  Rheumatoid arthritis
Bursitis Ulcerative Colitis
Asthma
Pain management
Sports injuries

Properties
Boswellic acids, the active constituents of Boswellia, function in a very similar way to NSAIDS, preventing the release of powerful chemicals known as leukotrienes, which lead to the inflammatory reaction.

Each vegetarian capsule provides:
400mg Boswellia resin, standardised to 65% (260mg) boswellic acids.
Manufactured in the UK by Natures Aid in their state of the art purpose built facility to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards.

People who bought Boswellia also bought:

Olive leaf (Olea europaea)
Olive leaf helps to support the cardiovascular system by lowering blood pressure, reducing bad cholesterol and increasing blood flow by relaxing the arteries. It is also indicated to fight infections and prevent pathogens from spreading and has antioxidant properties that help protect the body from free radicals.

Contains 500mg herb per tablet (6% Oleuropein). Suitable for vegetarians.
Senna Complex (with Liquorice)
Constipation makes people feel bloated and tired and can often cause joints and muscles to ache. Many people believe that visiting the toilet once or twice a week is normal. Given the role of the bowel in emptying the body of the waste products of three meals a day, such a situation is certainly not healthy. Constipation also makes infections, irritation and inflammation of the bowel lining more likely, as the tissues are exposed to waste products for longer periods of time.
Red clover (Trifolium pratense)
Red clover is considered to be one of the richest sources of isoflavones (water-soluble chemicals that act like estrogens and are found in many plants).
The following uses are widely cited (although not necessarily backed up with research!): hot flashes/flushes, PMS, lowering cholesterol, breast enhancement and breast health, improving urine production and improving circulation of the blood, help prevent osteoporosis, reduce likelihood of blood clots and arterial plaques and limiting the development of benign prostate hyperplasia.
